magic

My kids actually call it “magic light” and they know I love it.

Most of you know by now that this is my favorite time of day to photograph…..just before the sun sets. I love crazy glowing beautiful light…..and shooting right into it. I chase it from the moment it glows horizontally, until it stops peeping behind the trees. There’s something so magical about manipulating it through my lens vs. seeing with my eye only.

I’m in the process of decorating a new home. My walls are currently bare, but am having fun with a fresh new start….collecting photos to display. I’m planning a wall with a cluster of photos of my kids/family in “magic light.” There’s something so perfectly imperfect about displaying these type of photos. It suits me.

If at all possible, I always try to capture all of my clients in this light, even if it’s not the ones they pick as their favorites.

(and btw, I do have ‘four people twelve times’ photos….will share soon. I have not forgotten.)

may wedding

Wowee. Seems as though my intentions are good but am becoming horrible at posting here. A lot has been going on though…..and so I’ll share a little of it. First out of the gate is…..this fun may wedding. Biggest congratulations you two!

isn’t she stunning | ft. worth, texas wedding photographer

One look at her and I knew I was in bridal photo heaven. This stunning bride couldn’t have been sweeter…..lovely mom and mother-in-law who tagged along for the fun too. Erin and I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding this past weekend.

There was actually a wind storm happing around us for most of the shoot but she composed herself beautifully!

Here’s a 20X30 bridal board that I created for her……here, displayed at the sign-in section during the reception….so fun.

little dream

After being so busy lately, I am finally catching my breath and taking some time to re-group. So nice. In doing so, I’ve been trying check what’s going on with some of my favorite photographers & friends that I follow….other blogs. So, yesterday, I went to tara’s blog and I was hit with that ‘lump in your throat’ feeling when listening to this song that she shared called Little Dream by Laura Reaux. What you need to know before listening is that Laura is a photographer (film…love that) and is a mom of 5 kids who took a chance at pursuing an old dream. This song speaks to me….the lyrics (wowwee)…the simple raw nature of her performance…..in her house, squeaky piano & kids in the background. Sensational.
